What You Will Do:
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Customer Marketing for L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty (LDB) will lead the development and execution of strategic customer marketing initiatives across a specific pillar of retail partners. This role is responsible for driving brand growth and market share within the assigned retail channels by developing innovative and impactful marketing programs that resonate with target consumers and deliver measurable results. The AVP will oversee a team of Customer Marketing Managers and will collaborate closely with Customer Sales, Brand Marketing, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and maximize ROI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the overall customer marketing strategy for the assigned retail pillar, aligning with LDB's overall business objectives and brand strategies. Identify key growth opportunities and develop innovative programs to capitalize on them.
- Team Management: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Customer Marketing Managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
- Retailer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key decision-makers at assigned retail partners. Develop joint business plans and negotiate marketing programs that drive mutual benefit and growth.
- Marketing Program Development and Execution: Oversee the development and execution of 360-degree marketing campaigns tailored to the specific needs and preferences of each retail partner's customer base. This includes digital activations (e.g., email, social media, online advertising), in-store activations (e.g., merchandising, events, sampling), and promotional strategies.
- Budget Management and ROI Optimization: Manage the allocated budget for the retail pillar, ensuring responsible spending and maximizing return on investment. Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize marketing effectiveness and resource allocation.
- Innovation and Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies within the skincare and beauty space. Identify opportunities to leverage new approaches and innovative solutions to enhance customer engagement and drive growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with Sales, Brand Marketing, Education, and other key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and integrated execution of marketing programs.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates and performance reports to senior management, effectively communicating key achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in customer marketing, trade marketing, or a related role within the beauty or consumer goods industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies within a retail environment, demonstrating measurable business impact.
- Strong leadership and team management experience, with a proven ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and optimizing ROI.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of the skincare category and current beauty trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing a team of direct reports.
- Experience working with major beauty retailers (e.g., Ulta Beauty, Sephora, etc.).
- Experience with digital marketing platforms, social media management, and CRM systems.
