Job Summary:

The Dir/AVP Talent Management will support Talent Management with a key focus on the Luxury (LUXE) and Professional Products (PPD) Divisions of L’Oreal USA as well as supporting overall Talent Management objectives. The Talent Management roles is about listening to the employees and understanding the business with the objective of integrating employee aspirations within the context and vision of business needs.  Talent Management helps create proximity between talent HR Partners and the businesses across divisions of the company with a keen eye on Diversity and Inclusion in order to help talent navigate future opportunities for growth and development.  The scope of the role is primarily global and US marketing but also other non-digital key profile across the organization ie Sales, Communications.   Talent Management also partners with CDMO HR in facilitating career path crossing between Digital talent and Marketing or General Management where CDMO leads this scope.

The three main areas of support that the Dir/AVP will provide are:

  • Cross Division career pathing for talent for whom a cross divisional move could accelerate growth and development.
  • Open roles internal candidate slates
  • Career connects with talent, developing on-going relationships and providing an objective perspective on career pathing and career projections both to the employee and to HR partners.

The Dir/AVP will also manager L’Oreal USA’s partnership with the Fashion Institute of Technology where each year L’Oreal sponsors several students into the program.  The Dir/AVP will also be the lead support in developing senior management power point presentations for talent review, reporting in and tracking progress on commitments, and other senior level people mobility presentations.   The Dir/AVP will also be a key contributor to development and execution of key processes related to talent, working with the global team on US execution and HR compliance as well as developing US specific processes where needing including but not limited to career pathing, defining potential and projections and expatriation processes.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Establish a strong rapport and proximity with LUXE and PPD talent through Assistant Vice President level for key profiles for whom a cross divisional move would accelerate growth and development.
  • Provide objective insights on development opportunities and strengths of key talent populations in scope.
  • Provide advice and create connections as it relates to career path development.
  • Collaborate with divisional HR teams in LUXE and PPD to enable cross divisional career pathing, talent bench development, open job candidate slates from cross divisions.
  • Implement via participation in workstreams the global talent management strategy and train and ensure compliance within LUXE and PPD HR and business leader communities.  Ensure data input integrity is maintained.
  • Input to and/or develop career pathing strategies across key populations including, Marketing, Sales, future leaders and essential players.
  • Manage the FIT program
  • Develop and track progress on Talent Management commitments including D&I, future leader and key positions strategies
  • Develop Senior Management presentations

 

Required Experience/Training/Competencies

  • 7+ years of Human Resources Business Partner experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Ability to think strategically and approach the job responsibilities both analytically and empathetically 
  • Self-motivated, organized, and works with a sense of urgency 
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Change management skills 
  • Track record of establishing credibility with and collaborating with HR and business partners 
  • Developed coaching skills 
  • Possess strong ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality
