Who am I?

As Data & Analytics Director, you lead a team of data specialists and shape the present and future of data-driven decision-making at L'Oréal Bénélux. You are responsible of one of the most strategic & transformative topic in the L’Oreal Group for the Bénélux scope.
 
 In your role, working hand in hand with the Division’s business (business analysts, business development, CDO…) and IT stakeholders, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the data strategy in line with the global data strategy and governance, overseeing all data-related activities, and fostering a data-driven culture across the company. Working across all functions and all divisions, the Data and Analytics Director plays a key role in carrying the data deliveries and transformation at the Benelux level.
 
 You report to the CDMO of the Benelux Hub, and you are in close contact with the European Zone head of data. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Vision:
    • Design and implement L'Oréal's overall data strategy, encompassing data governance (centralization), data quality management, and data architecture following the international frame & rules. 
    • Roll-out data local or international data solution to enhance the performance of the business, increase efficiency and simplicity in domains like supply, commerce, market intelligence (sell-out data) and CDMO topics (like Media, CRM, Advocacy, part of the O+O data domain). 
       
  • Project Leadership & delivery accountability:
    • Lead the company's data transformation and simplification project, ensuring its successful implementation and adoption across all divisions. Lead one of the most strategic corporate projects on simplification & rationalization of the analytics eco-system, internal code name “Sunrise”.
    • Oversee the development, delivery/roll-out and quality of critical dashboards used by various teams, including but not limited to marketing, supply and commercial teams.
    • Champion data innovation initiatives, identifying and evaluating new technologies and approaches to enhance L'Oréal's data capabilities : data science for marketing, commercial, supply cases…
       
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
    • Work closely with stakeholders across all divisions and métiers to understand their specific data business needs and translate them into actionable solutions. 
    • Foster strong collaboration with both Zone and Global data teams, ensuring alignment on data strategy, shared insights, and best practice implementation.
       
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead and inspire a high-performing team of 5 data specialists, including data analysts, a data scientist, a data engineer, and a product manager.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team spirit, providing opportunities for growth and development.
    • Cultivate a thriving tribe of data enthusiasts across the company, fostering cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing.

 

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Foundations & understanding of big principles at least in data warehousing, ETL processes, data modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
    • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and Big Data technologies is a plus.
    • Intuition and critical eye on easy-to-read data dashboard is a plus.
       
  • Leadership & Management:
    • Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing data teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. This ability to explain complex topics in a simple manner is critical.         
    • Strong communication, organizational skills, crisis management capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Given the data delivery high expectations, this agility & crisis management is critical.
       
  • Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen:
    • Strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality, able to translate complex data into actionable insights that drive business value.
    • Deep understanding of business processes and challenges, with the ability to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions.
  • Experience  
    1. 8+ years of work experience and preferably some years in a data-driven role, direct business-related role(s). Business transformation role(s) is a plus. Management role required too.  
    2. Mandatory to speak fluent English ;  Dutch & French capabilities are a plus.
