Assistant Manager, eCommerce 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager, eCommerce, is responsible for supporting the growth, excellence, and customer-centricity of D2C eCommerce as a cross-functional technical project assistant. The Assistant Manager, eCommerce will help to ensure D2C excellence and success through managing the day-to-day execution of technical and site-operations projects including UI/UX development, content production, site management, project management, performance reporting, customer care, and digital marketing/CRM, all with an eye toward on-site conversion. 

To be successful, this role requires a generalist knowledge of eCommerce fundamentals, a strong grasp of project management, a passion for technology and improvement-oriented mindset, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.  The Assistant Manager, eCommerce will report to the Director, eCommerce, coordinating eCommerce priorities across various departments to support the site engagement goals and sales/conversion objectives of the eCommerce team, which in turn roll-up to both US Marketing objectives and US Sales targets.

 

KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Website Management. Support eCommerce website KPIs and objectives by working closely with Digital team within NYX PMU as well as corporate partners in IT, DMI, and CMO.
  • Site functionality deployment. Manage the weekly/monthly release cadence of site functionality via agile best practices working with technical counterparts across the organization. Communicate timelines to brand stakeholders and feedback to appropriate teams.
  • Front-end UI/UX design. Translate site functionality into consumer-facing creative. Develop on-site content based on the eCommerce marketing calendar with the Digital Creative team ensuring that site front-end aligns with UI/UX best practices, brand and usage guidelines, and business goals, that all internal timelines and approval routing requirements are met.
  • Site SEO. Lead technical site SEO improvements on a project basis. You will oversee progress of major improvement projects to build and maintain SEO health of our site including core web vitals such as page load, javascript, and resolving Google Search Console errors.
  • Data Analytics. Help track core site KPIs in internal reporting tools, including engagement, proactively identifying performance issues and opportunities.
  • Advanced Merchandising. Take charge of advanced merchandising projects for the digital team, including Virtual Try-On setup and deployment in SFCC and landing page buildouts in SFCC Page Designer.
  • Marketing. Help execute the NYX US eCom marketing plan cross-functionally with supporting partners in US Marketing & Social, US Creative, Digital Marketing & CRM, and other departments as needed.
  • Third Party Vendor Management. Assist in maintenance of third-party site features such as UGC, A/B testing, and web personalization tools, and owned site features such as Virtual Try On.
  • Competitive landscape review. Contribute competitive review on an ongoing basis, flagging up opportunities and best practices to business leads, always on the lookout for how to deliver the most consumer-centric experience.
  • Site platform maintenance. Serve as a point of contact for the Digital IT team when bugs and site issues arise, proactively troubleshooting issues on the ground and escalating major issues to the eCommerce Director.

 

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years experience in eCommerce or eCommerce-adjacent role
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce / digital space required.
  • Prior professional experience working with Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Salesforce Marketing Cloud required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Highly knowledgeable and passionate about the beauty world and beauty trends
