We have a suitable opening in the Operations – Sourcing department. for the role of Sourcing Excellence Manager – Direct and Indirect Sourcing for SAPMENA countries of the SAPMENA (South Asia, Pacific, Middle East, North Africa) zone, based in Mumbai

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven professional to lead and elevate sourcing excellence across our South Asia Pacific, Middle East, and North Africa (SAPMENA) region. This strategic role will be instrumental in ensuring our sourcing teams operate at the highest levels of compliance, social responsibility, and sustainability, while driving simplification and efficiency. The successful candidate will be a champion for best practices, a skilled project manager, and a collaborative leader capable of inspiring and upskilling sourcing teams across geographies.

You will champion standardization and efficiency, acting as a key liaison between global sourcing directives and their practical application within our diverse region in close alignment with Sourcing management team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Leadership & Compliance: Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the regional sourcing teams, ensuring alignment with L'Oréal's global sourcing strategy, ethical principles, and compliance standards. This includes fostering a culture of risk awareness and implementing robust risk management controls and methodologies.
  • Sustainability Champion: Act as a regional subject matter expert and advocate for L'Oréal's sustainability commitments, including human rights protection, environmental preservation, business integrity, and diversity & inclusion. Drive the integration of these critical values into all sourcing practices.
  • Knowledge Management & Systems Optimization: Oversee the regional sourcing information systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility. Lead initiatives to enhance knowledge sharing and collaboration across the sourcing community.
  • Sourcing Excellence & Team Development: Develop, implement, and champion best-in-class sourcing practices across the SAPMENA region. Provide mentorship, coaching, and targeted training programs to upskill the sourcing center team and elevate overall performance.
  • Global Collaboration & Solution Implementation: Partner effectively with global excellence teams to adapt and implement cutting-edge sourcing solutions within the SAPMENA region. Lead training initiatives and provide ongoing support to ensure seamless adoption and maximize impact.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and track performance against targets. Develop and deliver regular dashboard reports to senior management, providing insightful analysis and actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Transversal Project Leadership: Lead and manage complex, cross-functional projects related to sourcing optimization, process improvement, and innovation. Effectively navigate diverse stakeholder groups to achieve project objectives and deliver impactful results.

Professional Experience & skills

  • Working in the FMCG sector, good understanding of market & suppliers.
  • Experience in regional or global roles is highly desirable.
  • Experience with implementation projects and change management in a multinational environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data to track KPIs and drive data-led decisions via tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Expert understanding of source-to-pay processes, new tools, and technologies like GenAI, coupled with a proven ability to drive process improvements, implement new technologies, and increase efficiencies within a complex organizational environment.
  • Strong understanding of business process outsourcing and shared service centers for procurement, with demonstrated experience in leveraging these models to design and implement future-ready operating models for sourcing organizations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills in English (written and verbal), with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to work and navigate in complex organizations

  • Internal Stakeholders – Sourcing Teams, Product Development, Packaging, Zone Teams, Factories, R&I and Global teams 
  • External Stakeholders – Suppliers, Auditing agencies 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required (MBA preferable); a focus on Finance is a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of proven experience in Sourcing, Internal Control, and/or project management related to tool implementation , process optimization or sustainability.

 

Travel required

  • Travel will be need based on requirement.
