Job Summary:

The role of the Director of eCommerce Performance will be tasked with instilling a data-driven approach across our brands and organization as we create the strategy and communication plans used to reach our consumer.  This leader serves as a key subject matter expert regarding direct-to-consumer performance, including providing brands with proper industry benchmarks and performance drivers and KPIs.  Through the creation of dashboards and other optimized reporting tools, this individual and their team will help upskill the organization in order to create fact-based strategies to optimize the consumer journey across our quick-growing eCommerce channel.  We are looking for a consumer-focused, analytical, content marketing & digital ecommerce professional who is a skilled communicator and has a proven track record of building and developing a team of diverse individuals.

This role drives collaboration and influences multiple levels of leadership to execute on the following key deliverables.

  • Lead a team consisting of:
    • A pillar responsible for competitive market reporting & site analytics/reporting across the L'Oréal Luxe portfolio of brands.
    • A pillar responsible for managing a diverse set of 3rd party vendor relationships in order to: 1) maximize utilization of services, 2) measure performance against jointly established business KPIs, 3) create streamlined processes, and 4) compile data & insights to optimize performance.
  • Provide competitive benchmarking and market analysis to measure, and ultimately, increase Luxe direct-to-consumer market share, including providing brands with best practices observed across the industry
  • Share and socialize successful insights and tactics learned across other internal L'Oréal brands.
  • Develop a standardized process of analysis and reporting that will empower brands to better execute upon analyses, plans and overall strategies.
  • Adapt and cultivate a “measurement as a religion” mindset across teams and brands.
  • Develop, measure and track the KPIs for success across the division.  This leader should help further a culture obsessed with these success factors and determining the necessary levers to improve the business.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (including but not limited to supply chain, platform/site teams, merchandising and media) to discover and synthesize the relevant insights that can be shared across the organization and developed into omni-channel programs and campaigns.
  • Be the divisional lead and liaison for building a business case justification for new feature, services or platform development
  • Be the brand expert for all data-related questions and insights pertaining to performance

 

Job Requirements:

  • 7-10 years working in analytics related roles; direct to consumer eCommerce is a plus.
  • College Degree
  • Experience with people management a plus, as this role will manage direct reports
  • Expert knowledge and skill with data, data management, data activation and statistics, particularly as it relates to eCommerce and consumer analytics
  • Demonstrated strength in communication and influencing skills; not only written and verbal, but also in the engagement of internal and external business partners
  • Strong computer skills necessary (All Microsoft Office programs) with heavy focus on reporting tools including Google Analytics, tableau
  • Related work experience which demonstrates an understanding of and skill in the confluence of brand management and direct-to-consumer marketing principles
  • Ability to lead presentations and effectively analyze and translate data into actionable business plans
  • Highly collaborative across different stakeholders in a matrixed environment
  • Strong projection & forecasting skills
  • Open to new ideas and actively builds networks to achieve goals
  • Self-motivated, results and solution oriented, strategic thinker
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills

Judgment and Decision Making:

This role will require a balance of analytical thinking, communication skills and data management skills as it will require a demonstrated ability to develop consumer knowledge and insight and to act on the data in collaboration with internal brand & external account partners. It requires constant interaction within a matrixed business structure (Marketing, Ecommerce, GM, CMO) to coordinate work and deliver objectives. Actively builds networks and becomes in-house expert on the account database to influence, convince, and introduce new ways of executing a variety of strategy. This position will require moderate supervision to maintain a proper corporate direction.

Financial Scope:

$500m+ growing direct to consumer eCommerce business. 

Individual is accountable for managing the financial contracts and relationships for all 3rd party vendors for direct to consumer eCommerce.
