What a day in the life of the HR Data Product Owner looks like: 

Key Objectives

  • Build the HR Data Domain Layer to ensure the availability/quality of data needed for analytics use cases
  • Work closely with the HR Data Domain Owner, the HR Data Program Manager, the HR Data Privacy Officer, Analytics Product Owner, HR Data Stewards, IT Data Engineers, IT Custodians, and analytics use case owners.
  • Prioritize the backlog in Agile delivery mode

 

Activities

  • Demand management: when a new analytics demand is submitted, work with the analytics use case owner on the HR pre-project validation processes to validate the data readiness from Snowflake point of view
  • Define with Business and IT the data modeling roadmap
  • Design the data model in Snowflake
  • Responsible with the data stewards for the functional documentation of business data assets (including functional business rules for data quality purposes), and coordinates documentation of technical data assets
  • Create test scenarios and supervise data validation for data assets in Snowflake
  • Support data quality remediation initiatives

Soft Skills 

  • Self-driven and comfortable to make appropriate decisions supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products across different use cases
  • Data-related technical skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A combination of data management and business knowledge to be able to translate the use case needs into data-driven solutions.
  • Ability to build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, and dependency

 

Project management

  • Strong Agile project management (Scrum methodology) and organizational skills
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment

 

Technical Skills:

  • SQL (mandatory)
  • BI data modeling (mandatory)
  • Snowflake (optional)
  • Collibra (optional)
  • Scrum in ServiceNow (optional)

 

Languages:

  • French: fluent
  • English: fluent
