Team Introduction:

The SAPMENA Zone Chief Data & Analytics Office is a dynamic group of data & analytics experts dedicated to propelling ecommerce growth. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies, the team fosters continuous optimization of ecommerce platforms, customer experiences, and marketing efforts. Their collective drive and focus on data enable the organization to stay ahead in the competitive market, fostering sustainable growth and enriching customer satisfaction.

Role Overview:

This role reports to the Head of Data & Analytics – Commerce, SAPMENA. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build Data Product Strategy
    • Collaborate with business leaders to develop a deep understanding of data needs and pain points through research, data analysis, and feedback channels.
    • Create and communicate a compelling data product vision that aligns with the commercial strategy.
    • Act as the primary liaison between the Data IT team and business stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and gathering feedback.
  • Develop and Prioritize Data Product Backlog:
    • Translate the business requirements into a well-defined data product backlog, including features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data modelers, developers, and stakeholders, to refine and prioritize the data product backlog based on customer impact and business value.
    • Regularly review and update the backlog to ensure it reflects evolving business needs
  • Lead Agile Product Development:
    • Collaborate with the Scrum Master and development team to plan and execute product releases and sprints.
    • Define and prioritize user stories for each sprint, ensuring they align with the commercial strategy and deliver maximum value.
    • Provide clear guidance, conduct UAT and support to the development team throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Own and manage all the Commerce data, ensuring it's accurate, consistent, aligned with business needs.
    • Review data on a regular basis to ensure data quality & governance best practices are followed.

 

 

Required Skills:

  • Technical Skill Sets:
    • Strong expertise in Data Modelling & SQL.
    • Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery & Power BI will be preferred.
  • Product Management Expertise:
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in customer-centric industries.
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies and frameworks.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize product backlogs.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional teams.
    • Experience in facilitating workshops, meetings, and feedback sessions.
    • Strong empathy and dedication to creating value for our commercial teams
  • Analytical and Data-Driven Approach:
    • Proficiency in analyzing data and deriving meaningful insights.
    • Ability to use data and metrics to drive product decisions and optimizations.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning:
    • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Willingness to stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer experience best practices.
    • Educational background in Data Analytics/Engineering/Computing/Data science 

Functional expertise 

  • Have a deep understanding of the FMCG Commercial domain, i.e assortment, category, sell-in/sell-out etc… 
  • Worked with or worked in functional Commercial teams. 
  • Understand the pain points, goals and opportunities of these commercial teams.
