Communications & Retail Social Media Assistant Placement

Based: Dublin, Ireland

For a company like L'Oréal, press coverage, influencer engagement and PR events are at the heart of everything we do. Representing our 35 international brands, each with its own voice is a challenge that takes a lot of creativity and tenacity.


Whether it’s a virtual PR launch, help with organising an influencer trip, or brainstorming ideas for a creative PR mailout, you’ll be creating the human face of the L'Oréal brand. It goes without saying that you should be a strong team player with a lively personality - this is a job as much about fun as hard work.


Working in the press office, you will help us to portray our brands in the best way possible to the press and industry key opinion leaders. You would be a key team member working across the Luxury Division brands. As Communications & Retail Social Media Assistant, your principal accountability would be to provide support to the press office in ensuring the smooth running of day to day business. You would be responsible for your own live projects within the team, with exposure to senior management.

Day to-day you will…


Support on PR and influencer activations, from PR launch events to press trips, both online and offline
Manage product mail-outs – supporting the team on creative launch ideas to encourage social sharing and press coverage
Manage media and influencer lists – identifying new relevant targets across the brands
Assist the team with press queries – liaising with journalists on brand requests
Manage reporting for the brands – campaign reports & ongoing monthly media evaluations utilizing L’Oreal’s media and social platforms
Manage the creation and sharing of retail social media assets supporting key launches for key retail partners including Independent Pharmacies, Department Stores and Boots
Work closely with our team of experts to deliver engaging retail social media content with personalised messaging and support where possible. Delivering content to meet the retail social media content tone, look and feel
Review and report on competitor activity
Monitor influencers, online & print media for coverage and sharing PR wins with the wider team
Work with external suppliers and agencies on a day to day basis
Ensure we have strong presence across Beauty Awards, Editorial features, exclusives, cover opportunities where possible
Work closely and collaboratively alongside the sales and marketing teams, developing presentations/media coverage that delivers the best output for the business
Admin support including ordering of product, stationary, post and couriers
You would be responsible for your own live projects within the team, once in command of the day to day R&R

Recently completed a BSc/BA in PR, communications, journalism, marketing or similar relevant field, or have industry experience in same
Eligibility to work in Ireland
A keen interest in communications
Excellent written and verbal skills
Understanding of the beauty business
Understanding of communications tools
Capacity to understand the bigger business picture
A technical mind but keen to work within the heart of a creative business
Numerate and PC literate: in particular with strong Excel & PowerPoint skills
