Director / AVP, CPD Commercial Human Resources 

Summary of Key Job Accountabilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a strategic, business focused HR leader for our Consumer Products Commercial organization. The Director / Assistant Vice President of CPD Commercial Human Resources is based in New York and will be responsible for HR Generalist and Change Management initiatives across multiple locations in the US.  This position contributes to business performance and HR long-term vision by providing strategic consulting on people strategies, organization design, change management, performance management, organizational culture and employee engagement.  This is a business partner role with functional groups to attract, recruit, develop, train, motivate and engage people.


This position will collaborate with the Marketing and Finance Human Resources teams in the Consumer Products division on key initiatives to ensure consistency and alignment. This role requires a strong emphasis on strategic and organization consulting / facilitation, in addition to demonstrated performance with managing transformation and change management.


Key Business and People Objectives

  • Succession planning – Partner with leaders to manage succession planning and movement of talent within and across divisions.  Assess current and future talent needs for the division and develop strategies and plans to meet those needs.
  • Employee development - Strategically manage careers on an individual basis by building development plans and defining training opportunities; Partner with Senior leadership to anticipate organizational changes and business needs for client group
  • Organizational development / Change Management –Identify and support the design of appropriate approaches to drive change linked to business outcomes using change management, process improvement and team performance expertise and tools. Designs intervention and provides coaching support to develop and sustain new behaviors and processes coupled with developing appropriate metrics to measure impact of change interventions in driving successful change.
  • Recruitment – Partner with Talent Acquisition team on the recruitment strategy, selection and hiring for all open positions;
  • Performance management – Drive performance management through business partnership, coaching, counseling and disciplinary programs; Identify strategies to increase productivity and employee performance
  • Culture - Facilitate the communication of the organization’s desired culture, vision and values which guide the decisions and actions of the business
  • Employee relations - Objectively provide expert advice and coaching to employees and management
  • Total rewards compensation management - Collaborate with Total Rewards to evaluate employee pay levels & plan content to assess market competitiveness, including base salary & bonus plans.
  • Up to 40% travel to other US locations as needed

Required Experience/Training:

  • BA/BS degree. Masters level education (MS, MBA) preferred
  • 7+ years progressive HR generalist experience; 3+ years organizational development
  • Certification in organizational development program or assessment tools is a plus
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in coaching and developing talent
  • Compensation – In-depth understanding of policy and concepts, along with ability to articulate same.
  • Legal - Significant understanding of employment laws and statutes pertaining to equal opportunity employment, ADA, FMLA, OFCCP, Wage and Hour, WARN, Employment Agreements, etc.
  • Financial - Solid knowledge of P & L, including budget process
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint (with ability to learn internal systems)
