You will work within the Expert Sensory Evaluation Department at the Cosmetic Research and Innovation Centre in Chevilly-Larue (south-east Paris - 94).

As a strategic innovation partner, the Expert Sensory Evaluation Department contributes to innovations by focusing on their sensory appeal. The department characterises products in a holistic and objective manner (texture, appearance, and smell); provides evidence of their performance; describes consumer perceptions; substantiate[A1] s the products’ sensory claims; and, finally, produces strategic knowledge through our databases impacting[A2] [A3] [A4]  the launch of successful products.

We cooperate with the laboratories and the Marketing Department, helping them make decisions and identify how they can optimise future launches and renovations of skincare, make-up, and hygiene products.

Your main responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for sensory studies on skincare and make-up products from the time you receive the brief to the time you deliver the results. You will ensure the best test design is used to meet the goals of the laboratories. You will pilot the test with our service providers, process the data, analyse the results, and use this information to produce conclusions and operational recommendations.
  • You will check that your analyses are consistent with respect to other tests and proof-of-performance[A5] [A6] [A7]  analyses (expert tests, consumer tests, and in vivo and in vitro instrumental tests).
  • You will pilot tests and analyses locally as well as internationally in collaboration with our hubs throughout the world (US, China, Japan, India, and Brazil).
  • You will coordinate relations with our sensory test provider (monitoring activities, prioritizing tests, and fulfilling ad hoc requests).
  • You will conduct category and market analyses using a global database to help shape innovation strategies (mappings and meta-analyses to build knowledge).
  • You will help build links between our sensory data and other types of data (evaluation, formulation), to help our researchers deliver relevant innovations in a reduced Time to Market.
  • You will help modify and develop sensory evaluation methods to ensure we are always using the best approach and stay up to date with technological advancements and the future needs of consumers.
  • In time, you will become a reference and expert in the product categories in which you work.

Your assets:
  • You have obtained a degree from a higher education institution such as an engineering school or university.
  • You have significant experience (3 to 6 years) in the field of sensory analysis. You are well versed in the different types of sensory tests, panel management, and the statistical analysis of test results (simple and multi-dimensional analyses).
  • You are fluent in English and have a good understanding of French. You can interact in an international environment (presentations, meetings, workshops, and reports in English).
  • You are passionate about the beauty sector and consumer trends. You keep up with this passion by interacting on social networks (Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and by staying informed about the latest developments in the sector.
  • You know how to put things in perspective and challenge and understand topics of strategic importance in order to come up with the right solutions.
  • You have excellent people skills. You know how to establish and maintain trust-based relationships with your team and partners.
  • You are comfortable with speaking in public and know how to structure and present your message to maximise your impact.
  • You are highly organised, you are familiar with managing projects, and you can work on several projects at the same time.
  • You are agile and can adapt to the situation at hand.
  • You are comfortable with numbers, statistics, data handling (database), IT tools, and analyses.

We will offer you:

An open environment within an agile organisation focused on challenging the status quo, promoting entrepreneurship, and innovating. A culture centred on cooperation and feedback.

Integrity, respect, and transparency.

A business model that is constantly becoming more responsible and sustainable.

A vision aimed at universalising beauty that celebrates diversity.
