Job Summary :

This role is to support new product launches, capital project implementation, overall equipment efficiency (OEE) improvements, and production and processing activities through performing in-house fabrication of tooling while maintaining a culture of safety, and being consumer-centric regarding the quality of finished goods. Collecting measurements of equipment and tooling with a high degree of precision then adapting those measurements to fabricated tooling is critical.

 

Job Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or GED required

 

Experience:

Proficient with CAD/CAM software is a must, Fusion 360 is highly preferable.

Familiar with calculating and applying correct milling surface speeds

Completion of formal CAD and CAM Certified training program or three (3) years on-the-job training working as a CNC programmer

Familiar with the machining techniques of milling and turning stock within high precision and accuracy.

Minimum of two (2) years work experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

 Essential Physical Requirements :

Ability to work flexible shifts/hours, as well as overtime, as needed which requires standing on concrete floor for duration of work shift not including breaks.

Lifting and handling of raw materials for part manufacture will be required, not to exceed OSHA guidelines.

Employees working around machinery that exceed OSHA’s noise level are provided with and are required to wear personal hearing protection devices in these areas

All employees working on machinery are provided with and required to wear safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and safety gloves; may be required to wear 100% cotton uniforms

1. Support implementation and adherence to all L’Oréal policies and procedures including but not limited to, the Corporation’s Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, & Equal Employment Policies.

2.  Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety procedures.

3.  Design automation tooling and prototypes using CAD/CAM software with the purpose of machining using computer numerical controlled (CNC) metal-cutting and forming machines, 3D Printing, and equipment including but not limited to saws, drills, grinders, lathes, mills, die presses, machinist hand tools and precision measuring devices.

4.  Fabricate tooling using conventional and computer numerical controlled (CNC) metal-cutting and forming machines, 3D Printing, and equipment including but not limited to saws, drills, grinders, lathes, mills, die presses, machinist hand tools and precision measuring devices.

5.  Read and interpret complex engineering drawings of tooling and product, including Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) callouts, to build tooling to specification and/or properly annotate changes to tooling

6.  Work independently and as part of a team to create and implement tooling solutions for production equipment when engineering design resources are not available. This may include developing complex tool paths, creating 3D models or prints and/or, reverse engineering existing parts for modification/fabrication.

7. Provide estimates of tooling build time to establish shop promise dates and execute assigned work to meet job promise dates.

8. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace and follow 5S methodology and perform other custodial responsibilities as required

9. Identify and recommend cost savings and speed-to-market opportunities through increased equipment output or technological improvements
