A Day in the Life
As a Retail Business Manager, you'll be at the heart of L’Oréal Travel Retail, leading the charge in South Africa, Mauritius, and Réunion. Reporting to the Travel Retail Head in Paris, you will drive sales, manage key accounts, and develop a high-performing team. This role blends strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Sales & Performance Management: Drive sales growth, manage the travel retail channel, identify opportunities, lead negotiations, analyse KPIs, and optimize performance. Develop turnover and profitability, managing operating accounts for your geographical zone.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing team through coaching and training. Manage Beauty Advisors, oversee their training, and provide daily coaching.
- Sales Strategy Development: Recruit and develop field teams (Regional Coaching Managers, Regional Trainers, Beauty Advisors). Implement L’Oréal Group’s annual plan, develop strong relationships with key accounts, and negotiate margins, space, and visibility.
- Visual Merchandising & Store Operations: Maintain a visually impactful store environment aligned with brand guidelines. Allocate Beauty Advisors and promoters, guarantee operational implementation, and work with Visual & Retail Merchandisers.
- Collaboration & Communication: Partner with area managers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders. Communicate effectively with your team.
We Are Looking For
A dynamic, results-oriented leader with a passion for beauty and a proven track record in retail management. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven Retail Management Experience: 5+ years of leading and managing teams in a fast-paced retail environment, preferably in beauty. Experience with reporting, analysis, resource allocation, and retail implementation.
- Strong Business Acumen: Strategic thinker, adept at identifying opportunities, negotiating effectively, and understanding retail metrics.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and building relationships. Experience managing intermediary agent relationships.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Data-driven, excels at analysis, performance monitoring, and identifying solutions.
- Results-Oriented & Adaptable: Proven ability to exceed targets, drive sales, and thrive in a dynamic environment. Experience following up on and improving sell-out and results.
- French Language Proficiency: Added advatange
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of retail management experience.
- Ability to travel regularly within South Africa and internationally.
- Preference for South African citizens or those legally authorized to work in South Africa.
