Category Business Development Manager (m/f)

in our Consumer Product Division 
Based in Belgrade


As a Category Business Development Manager, you will be part of Consumer Products Division Adria-Balkan Team based in Belgrade and report to the Division’s Business Development Director. Chosen candidate will be responsible to further build the category’s vision and action plan, based on thorough analysis of shopper, consumer, and market data. The job consists of a combination of operational and strategic responsibilities, of which the balance must be further developed as you grow into the role and gain more experience while being responsible for:

  • Building the category vision and action plan, based on thorough analysis of shopper, consumer, and market data
  • Participating in a strategic alignment, with superior understanding of shopper needs and behaviors to develop a triple win (L’Oréal, Retailer and shopper) strategy, with adequate mix activation plan
  • Acting as the referent for his/her category questions. Support the commercial team in their business plan alignment with retailers, with the right shopper and category insights, market and category reviews, and during retailer presentation
  • Ensuring the consistency of the category plans across the Division brands providing fact based arbitrages between brands when needed
  • Building 3 years distribution and client growth plan by using category insight to elevate with clear vision and create category strategy 
  • Channel development by setting, owning and optimizing the brand’s distribution strategy 
  • Owning CAPEX strategy in line with the 3 year distribution plan
  • Leading and developing projects for client’s top doors and clusterization 
  • Selling stories and recognizing opportunities for space gains
  • Working on new brands expansion and opportunity sizing across markets 
  • Working with merchandising team on planogram space maximization – contributing to growth, and optimizing stands and assortment
  • Developing categories at client with the category projects
  • Working on pricing strategy and promotion
  • Staying up-to-date with market, consumers and competitors 
  • Collecting and connecting comprehensive knowledge about the retailers and influencing the retailer in order to build retailers development plans 
  • Collaboration across functions

  • Holds a Bachelor’s or a Master’s Degree 
  • Has from 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar field
  • Has excellent analytical skills with focus on research and market data analysis
  • Has good knowledge of mass market: competitors, consumers and trends
  • Is able to integrate retail and shopper expertise
  • Has good presentation skills
  • Has advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Fluent in English and Serbian language
