What You Will Do:
Assistant Vice President (AVP) of L'Oréal Academies will have responsibility for the strategic direction, operational management, analyze programming, occupancy and financial performance of L'Oréal's training academies.
Job Duties and Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration:
- Collaboration with Senior Management: The AVP will work closely with VP-level Education heads, General Managers (GMs), and Sales teams. This collaboration ensures alignment between academy programming and the overall profit & loss (P&L) impact.
- Brand Education Alignment: Work with the VP of Brand Education to ensure the academy's curriculum reflects current industry trends and brand priorities. Analyzing class attendance data will inform programming decisions and optimize offerings.
- Revenue Generation and Occupancy: The AVP is tasked with identifying new revenue streams and maximizing academy occupancy. This may include exploring partnerships, developing new program formats, or attracting external clients. Achieving 80% occupancy or higher.
Financial Management and Analysis:
- Budgetary Oversight: The AVP holds overall responsibility for budget management, including trend forecasting, P&L analysis, and tracking class profitability. This requires strong financial acumen and the ability to provide actionable insights based on financial data.
- Ticket Sales Analysis: Report ticket sales with sales teams and brands and strategize ways to drive sell thru.
Operational Management and Process Improvement:
- Programming and Scheduling: Creating and managing the academy's calendar of events is a core function. Balancing educational programs (80%) with corporate events (20%) requires careful planning and coordination. Allocating room bookings across different brands emphasizes the need for efficient resource allocation.
- Process Development: The AVP will develop and implement procedures for smooth academy operations. This includes creating booking request forms, managing the calendar, overseeing staffing, and conducting class and event reviews.
- Team Management: The AVP will manage a team, including a Marketing Manager and Academy Managers by providing guidance, clear responsibilities and ensuring team members meet their performance objectives.
Reporting and Communication:
- Monthly Reporting: Providing monthly reports on occupancy, programming, reach, and future plans is a key accountability aspect of the role. This necessitates strong analytical and communication skills to effectively convey complex information to senior management.
Overall, this AVP role calls for a dynamic individual with a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, financial acumen, and strong leadership skills. Success in this position will hinge on the ability to collaborate effectively, influence mgmt., drive revenue growth, optimize resource utilization, and develop a high-performing team.

What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Education Requirements - Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Years of Experience- 15- 20 years
- Job Specific Experience/Skills – Experience in the professional industry
- Technical Skills (i.e., SAP, MS Office, etc.) Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and understanding of Social media platforms.
- List Physical requirements of the role (i.e. sitting, standing, twisting, bending, physical in-office presence) Sitting, standing, hybrid between in-office, in academy
- Flexibility in work schedule, night and some weekends.
- Ability to Travel on a bi-monthly bases to the West Coast Academy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cosmetology license preferred but not required.
- Strong Business Acumen preferred
- Understanding of Academy Purpose and leading business department
