Assistant Vice President, Digital Platforms & Services - Search

The One Media team is a center of excellence that works in service to the over 30 beautiful brands of L’Oreal USA. Our mission is to ensure our brands have best in class partnerships in value, structure and ways of working with our media partners and agencies while delivering next level strategic vision. Our Head of Search will set the vision and overarching strategy for L’Oreal USA’s search operations and be the hands on keyboard lead of LeSearch, the L’Oreal USA in house & agency Search team. We are looking for a person with a passion for using collaboration, media and emerging technologies to deliver world-class partnerships for our brands. To succeed, you will need to be a self-starter who is always looking for the next thing to improve, a creative solutions advocate, willing and eager to try new tools and technology, passionate and knowledgeable about media and data, have a deep project management toolkit and exercise excellent leadership through influence skills.

Who your team will be:

  • 2 in house direct reports
  • 9 in house paid search talent (dotted line)
  • 16 agency paid search & SEO talent

Day to day, your role includes:

  • Own strategy and vision to accelerate internal search capabilities
  • Lead team of internal and agency across the divisions and act as center of excellence for the entire organization.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to drive revenue
  • Empower brand teams to build high performing search strategies, driving digital sales and be a key digital subject matter expert
  • Upskill Search teams on best practices, lead training strategy partnership w/HR Learning Team
  • Oversee the roadmap of internal digital business intelligence tools for Search.
  • Drive revenue from search, conversion & ROAS
  • Execute pilots, learning agenda and scale
  • Ensure sites have best in class SEO , SEO Tech and upskill brands to grow organic share of voice
  • Oversee site transitions to NGLORA (new DTC platform) from an SEO perspective
  • Lead relationship with Wavemaker agency and Google, Bing, Pinterest and other search partners
  • Partner with IT and brands from site technical standpoint to deliver websites with best-in-class performance for SEO, Load time and Search core vitals.
  • Provide support to CDO, GMs & Digital teams to fuel Search capabilities and grow revenue

 Innovation

  • Lead innovation with search partners and own LUSA test/learn/scale agenda for Search
  • Champion mobile-first mentality and execute strategies that drive conversion
  • Launch entrepreneurial features that drive incremental digital sales (eg. visual search)
  • Increase L’Oreal’s SOV on emerging digital platforms (eg. Google Assistant)
  • Develop deep relationships with technology providers to ensure L’Oreal is best-in-class

Digital Business Intelligence

  • Set, analyze and optimize KPIs for operational and executive reporting
  • Own internal Search Dashboard and reporting
  • Author playbooks, scorecards and newsletters that empower local teams and increase adoption
  • Deliver best-in-class insights to keep L’Oreal ahead of competition

We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:

  • 10+ years of experience
  • BS/BA degree required. 
  • Entrepreneurially spirited; strong work ethic and customer driven
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build successful relationships at all levels of the organization and cross-functionally to staff with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Ability to effectively present information to an individual or group, both written and verbally
  • Solid understanding of eCommerce and high volume online retail businesses
  • Highly organized with proven multi-tasking ability and project management.
  • Experience working with Demandware (Salesforce) & Sitecore platforms
  • Expert analytics, MVT & BI software knowledge (Google Analytics, Domo, Tableau, Optimize) 
  • Deep organic search knowledge across website technology, search measurement tools (eg. Brightedge, OnCrawl, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.) and organic content disciplines required
  • Paid media and/or relational database development (SQL) experience is a plus
  • Affinity and relevant experience in beauty and personal care brands is a plus
  • Strong ability to develop business cases, understand brand development and communicate key value propositions succinctly to a broad group of leaders
