Job Overview

Finance cost controller uses financial, budget and accounting expertise to evaluate company functional cost and ensures that costs remain within budgetary limits. In this role, you will work collaboratively with various department stakeholder to analyze costs, identify risks and opportunities and to propose the appropriate actions. To succeed in this position, you will demonstrate an aptitude for efficiency, problem-solving, and resourcefulness, with a deep commitment to the bottom line without compromising quality.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Carry out budgetary control for one or several areas of activity (e.g. Operating Expenditure (OPEX)) under the direct supervision of his/her manager.
  • Participate in drafting the plan, budget, and trends for his/her area of activity (e.g. drawing up analysis charts, summaries, specific analyses, retro planning with division etc.).
  • Undertake all cost analyses to detect risks / opportunity and propose the actions required to maintain budgetary objectives. Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Ensure completeness of month end closing for Headcount reporting.
  • Produce or supervise the monthly reports for his/her area of activity (e.g. division OPEX landing estimation and variance analysis, quarterly review with division GM & Controller)
  • Work closely with Excellence in Finance team to implement best practice for local market (e.g. cost center governance, Drive OPEX centralization, harmonize standards/process across Division)
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Implement good Internal Control practices within his/her area of activity.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.

Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or relevant field strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in FMCG industry
  • Solid networking and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation skills, able to explain concepts concisely and accurately
  • Able to develop strong, cooperative relationships with department heads
  • Creative thinking skills and ability to solve problems
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • Understand ERP system and Microsoft Excel.
